Happy

I am so happy, to be reviewing Happy! Speaking of happy, Happy Thanksgiving everybody!! Hope you all gave some thanks. :) Now on to the song. This is the first song of "The Summer" and also, the first song we hear a ukulele in. Just like the previous EP, I expect this EP to be more thought out songs. This song is adorable. All about being happy, and it should be. It starts with a uke and vocal. The vocals are really clear, and sound good. There aren't many instruments on this song beside for the ones I have already named; vocal and ukulele. Other than that, it is guitar and a maraca. It's hidden in there I tell you!! Well, onward. This is a very up beat, and spirited song. it really simple, and nice. The simple songs are the ones that stand out more, and have a good meaning. It shows songs don't have to be very intricate to be a great song. The song is about just having that someone in your life who makes you undeniably happy. You love them, and having them with you makes you happy. You can't find anything wrong with them, and your just super duper happy someone like them is with you. Happy, happy, happy. It's all you can be with them here. It's a perfect love song, not a total mushy one and it has a new kinda view. I mean, how many songs talk about being happy? Most have lines that have been repeated to many times. So this song brings a new insight to a love, and makes the listener even want to smile! Whether you have a lover or not, you should give this song a listen and it will most likely bring your spirits up. So all in all, this is a great song as always. NSN is not one to dissapoint. I am so close to giving it a 5 outta 5! But I'll side with a 4.6/5 again. Gracias for reading fellow beauties! peace :)
go love!~kate

Dare4distance

Why, hello buddies! Let's end this week(as well as EP) with a sweet song; Dare4distance. Wow, I really can't believe this EP is coming to an end too. It went by way faster than demo-shmemo did. I dont know why, but it did. Anywho, Dare4distance. It starts out with vocals, a strum every few seconds. this song is kinda slow. It's not fast like for example Heregoeznothin. But it's not slow. It's a nice tempo, though. As some sites have said, this song is about long distance relationships. Which I do second. This doesn't have to be for a girlfriend or vise versa. It could be for a sibling, or a friend. There's nothing that says their in love. Just that they miss each other. And it is hard to be so far from a person whom in which you care for. It seems the people you care the most for or maybe just one person, that the farther you are the more you ache to see them. Such as how, "Fridays, I see your face. And I can't breathe." This song can be for anyone. Pretty much for anyone who has someone important to them they miss truly. The instruments I believe are srtings(as in, violin and like a chello and such), g-tar, maybe piano. Hm, lots of piano in here. After the first chorus, the guitar part has like, a stop and go pattern once more. But instead of pauses, there's a quiet strum. This song is all around sweet. It makes me want to sing. The lyrics have such meaning, to distanced love. How I see it, Chris is sending this out to his lover(Yeah, yeah, I know it can go either way but for him I'll so with an oh so adored girl). She's in college or a far away place. Main point is she's away from him. Week days keep them apart, but when the weekend rolls around they can see each other again. They probably were thinking of going separate ways; splitting. But nope, they are gonna be daring(wink wink). They are going the distance and daring to be apart formally, but they're still together in the heart. Both can drive, so why worry? They can find a way to see each other. And they did. Each weekend. So to put this song together for a rating, it's say 4.6/5. Woah! Highest rating yet! Things just got interesting! Hahaha I'm kidding :) Well, thats all folks at home. Keep on chilling and being the people ya'll are :) See ya next week with The Summer EP. Have a rad friday :D

Smelyalata

Hello again beauties :) Welcome back, and once more I have forgotten to post on time, sorry! Well, why don't we get this started, shall we? Oh Chris, you creative little boy...The titles in this EP are so silly and cute. As well as creative. This song has a lot of different rhythms. Its all over the place! In a good way, in a good way. The instruments in this song are that darn maraca or crank..or what not..... Also, guitar, been forgetting this one, but drums, and a cell phone ring. It starts off with just vocal, soon adding guitar. Then, comes tambourine. And all the instruments together, in the chorus. I could really dance to this song, with all the la la la's after the chorus. After the first stanza or la's (which is 13 by-the-way) the second one is followed with "*ring ring* hello?"....It kinda "slows" down a bit after that with "every body's going out to the party and we're having a good time. And I'm feeling alright tonight. With a better judgment" I feel jumpy at that moment. Partys are a fun time, and when you hear good time in a song, You feel good, and enjoying the time! This song in my eyes is about just pushing out those negative thoughts and moments and all your problems and have a grand time. Cause obviously, the other person doesnt exactly care considering he is getting hung up on by them. He interrupts, and has a heard time with it, and they just click the end button. He's confused and aggrivated. Feeling blue, and hurt. So whatta ya do? Going to a party. And dont try again. Cause for him, it's not worth it. SO lets put it all together....Smelyalata is a groovy, catchy, moving around tune. I'd say Smelyalata gets 3.8/5 stars? It's a good song, dont get me wrong! But I feel Im being a little lenient on my ratings..Next song shall be Darefordistance :) I like that one. ANd that song shall finish up this EP...geez, did this go bye fast.. Well, darlings, catch cha all laters!
peace-peace, bye-bye ~kate

Bigcitydreams

Before I start, I have to say 2 things...First off, I fucking adore this song :P and second, I am sorry that I'm umm 3 no, 4 days late on this. So lovelies. Lets begin :) I have to say i am oh-so-happy that I am on this song. It gives me smiles! Ha ha well, it starts out with piano and vocal. Nice combo.. ;) Ahaha....Um wellll, I think the instruments in this song are piano(well do Dur.), guitar is a must, umm tambourine. As it opens up, it's just piano. Then guitar and piano join together! Woohoo.....The piano is mostly high keys, which sounds cool. :) I think this song, If I have checked correctly is one of NSN's top songs. I find that it's probably the message along with the rhythm or such. I message is from him to a girl. She wants to get out of the town. Well, This song, we could all relate to. Got that person(or you) who wants to leave. Get out of the town. And you (or they) feel like they do know things but honestly it's not that simple. Since, if they did know then they wouldn't be shouting. And talking on about it. .last time I hd said "Heregoesnothin" is one on my faves in this EP, I lied. I like them all for sure. No top, or bottom.. No sure if it's possible for me to pick. Bigcitydreams is about a girl who dreams large; for a place in the big city. She is slightly confused, and trying to figure things out. She hasn't told anyone she is gonna leave for those dreams caused by her thinking she does know a few things. Chris wants her to just tell everyone she is going. She doesn;t like this town, no matter how good she really does have it. This song is cute, and a tell all on big dreams from a tiny town. I think this song gets a......4.7/5!! Par-tay :) Well beauties, my time to goooo. Next tune is smelyalata! Lates ;)

Heregoesnothin

Well, ain't this grand. The first EP is done, and we now have moved onto The Yippee!! Who's excited as I am? It could just be that it is Friday, Buutttttttt Never Shout Never can always make me happy. and smile. Alrighty, Heregoesnothin. ;) So now it starts with a capital letter. Cool :) Okay so this song is much more thought through than one's previous, as I expect the whole EP to be. The start of the song is techno...maybe..It has like, a maraca I believe. But it sounds like a crank or something....I know that doesn't quite help but listen to it, and tell me what it is! Ha I like his intro, "*Ahem* Check, check on two. alright, here goes nothin" It's pretty sweet. The instruments. There is guitar(once again, as always), I think there is a keyboard too. Not a piano though. Ha, and there are lots of layers in this one. Or at least a few. Oh, and that maraca or crank or........er.....I dont know....This song, again, is like nothing you'd here today. And for that, it is way better than most songs now a days. It's different because the way it's put together. The beat, the sounds, and how he sings. He actually sings. And he HITS THOSE HIGH NOTES! Yeah, I said i was excited. which means i can get quite hyper...I like the guitar in this one. It's not like, continuous. It stops, then goes and then, oh you guessed it, it goes again! Ha This is one of my faves of this EP. The lyrics are some of my faves mainly. They're bout a girl, who likes to talk. She doesn't have patience or wait for things. She thinks he (Chris) knows things he doesn't know and it's getting hard for him to pretend to know. No one notices his "laughs woe" or that his eyes don't quite see right anymore. People keep asking him and honestly, hes got nothin! Ha, well the girl is down, and being who he is, Chris says she's strong to everyone. But she's a liar. and liars get what comes around in the final blow. This song is for I guess maybe when you're down. and There's a person who is making you down. I think this song can get you back up from those hard times and make you smile. Those hard times, are a waste sooooo listen to Never Shout Never! Hahaha Oh yes. :) Well, for such upbeat and cheery, and something which I can't put my wee finger on; gets ummmm, 4.5/5. Alright, so The Yippee is started!! Hallelujuh! Oi I spelt that wrong. Ha well, sassy suzies, i'm out. :) love yall

shesgotstyle

And to conclude demo shmemo, shesgotstyle. Oh, my my my....This song is one of my tippy top favorites. :) Okay well, it is sweet, meaningful and super catchy. I have often caught myself singing this song in my head too many times in class. This song is one of those songs you can play anywhere. In the car, on a walk, loud in your room, and many more occasions. Well, I believe the instruments in this song are acoustic guitar(as always..), mayyybbe piano..? I've heard it in other songs in this EP...Also, I think maybe a tambourine Um, I love this intro. I really like it when he opens up with no instruments. It's cool. To me at least. You know, you don't see songs like this often. Ones that are true from the heart and actually MEAN something. Am I right? music now-a-days but some artists are a little crappy...Which is why this song, I am falling in love with. Chris's voice is really like, I dont really know how to explain it, but like, crisp. Or something....Like, it is, clear or whatever, and it comes out really good. Ha, watch me remember the word I'm thinking of ten minutes later......This song(I think) Isnt auto tuned. Which, I am absolutely cool with! Chris doesn't need auto tune. He has such a great voice. :) Yeah, he sounds good. Really good, in this song. The lyrics are adorable. I had to say it! I had read the lyrics, and geez, did I smile. Everyone wants a relationship like this, I mean, one that your lover is just so sweet and over powered with love :) They dream about you. And when you're around, they only see you. To me, this song is about a girl he likes, or cares about and well thinks she's cool. Shes got style! Ha, he really likes her, but she really doesnt see how since she "might think I'm incapable of loving a soul like yours". Ha, and he is saying she's perfect and not to take a listen to what they say bout her. She might think he's not able to love her cause he's naive but, he believes in her. She has dreams. :) He's saying there's no ones like her, and he can't stop loving her, or believing in her, or ever leave her. This adorable, cute, fun, special, meaningful, true song, is great. A good one. So to conclude "demo shmemo" I shall give shesgotstyle lets say, 4.5 moons? Yeah, thats right :) Next EP is "the Yippee"!! Woohoo Well, later all my buds :) Stay chillin'

overtheyears

Welcome, my hommies! This week ends with overtheyears. Once more, no caps or spaces. :) This song falls into the category of sweet, slow(ish) songs. I do remember saying slow songs need to have a sped up part mixed in, but I take that back. Because this is a slow song which I find almost perfect. The instruments are piano (which opens up the song), I think violins(I just know it's a string instrument) and I also think an ocean sound. There could be more instruments but I can't find any websites that tell me them. Well, bleh. Ha, this song opens with piano as I said previously. Chris's voice overlaps like it did in "lover love liar lie". Back-up vocals start at "Remind you mom to call me I still care". They are like, Ahh (Ahh is the sound they make not Ahh its amazing or such). The lyrics are quite sweet if I do say so myself. :) In my opinion, I think they are about Chris changing and bringing a girl he cares about, well, down. He must have lost he trust or lost a friendship between her and him since it states "I'm right there too. Through the good times, the bad ones too". Something was arranged between them, because he will not dare to disagree with the life she arranged, as he states. After the last line, there is a long instrumental part for the rest of the song. Which is when the ocean sound or something comes into play. overtheyears is about a lost friendship, or possible more(Well, to me it is). If you are feeling down, and missing someone you care for, give this song a listen. Or if you just are in a mood for a slow, soft, and beautiful song this is a great choice. So all together, I'd give overtheyears, 4.5/5 moons. Catch you beauties later! Oh and I apologize that this review is so short....with such few lyrics i can't do too much, But no excuses! Next ones will be longer, my promise. ~peace to you, kate
